Curodont™
Natural, Non-Invasive Treatment For Little Smiles
At Wilmington Pediatric Dentistry, we prioritize gentle solutions to taking care of your child’s smile. Think of your child’s teeth like little boats on the water—strong and resilient, but sometimes vulnerable to small waves of decay. Curodont™ is an innovative dental product that leverages your child’s natural ability to heal and treat tooth decay in its early stages, all without the use of artificial drilling material. With Curodont™, we can intervene early to protect your child from the stormier effects of more advanced tooth decay.

What Is Curodont™?
Curodont™ is a gentle, non-invasive way to stop the early stages of tooth decay. This innovative treatment works by imitating your child’s natural defense system. Once applied, the formula works together with the minerals already present in your child’s saliva to repair early damage inside the tooth.
Because it rebuilds the enamel naturally without the use of any artificial filling materials or drilling, Curodont™ helps restore and protect your child’s teeth while keeping its original structure intact. It’s a comfortable, non-invasive option designed to naturally strengthen the teeth, keeping your child’s smile strong for the long voyage ahead.
How Do Cavities Start?
A cavity is a hole in your child’s tooth that is caused by tooth decay, which children are highly susceptible to. First, the bacteria in your child’s mouth forms a sticky substance called dental plaque. If not brushed away by regular dental visits and proper brushing, the acid in the plaque breaks down the surface of the tooth.
The Importance Of Treating Tooth Decay
Tooth decay is the most common dental problem. If it is not stopped early, the damage can spread deeper into the tooth and eventually cause permanent loss of tooth structure. At more advanced stages (when a cavity forms), the tooth must be repaired with a filling material. The good news is that when decay is caught in its earliest stage, treatment can be gentle and help preserve the natural tooth for longer.

Is My Child A Candidate For Curodont™?
Curodont™ works on early stages of tooth decay. If your child has more advanced tooth decay, including a full blown cavity, they will unfortunately need to be treated with a filling. To prevent the need of more involved dental treatments, take care of your child’s teeth at home through diligent flossing, feeding them a nutritious balanced diet that is low in sugar and visiting our office for regular cleanings and monitoring. We’re here to help keep them afloat amidst even the choppiest waters!
