Dr. Skip Tyson

Skip Tyson, DDS, is a board certified pediatric dentist with 30 years of experience, known for his compassionate approach and dedication to making every dental visit a fun and positive experience for children.

He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to complete his post-doctoral residency in pediatric dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina Medical Center in Charleston.

Dr. Skip is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society.

He serves on the professional team at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He also contributes to the education of future dentists as a visiting faculty member at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry and the

MUSC Postgraduate Program in Pediatric Dentistry. His leadership extends to professional organizations, as well—he has served as President and Board Member of the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society and has spent nearly two decades on the boards of the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Recognized by his peers for his commitment to excellence, ethics and leadership, Dr. Skip was nominated for and inducted into the American College of Dentists.

A local Wilmington resident, Dr. Skip lives with his wife, Susan, and their two children. Outside the office, he enjoys boating, surfing, paddle boarding, mountain biking and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
